Francesca's Baptism

Earlier today was Francesca's baptism. To keep with the tradition, she was baptized at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Miami and Father Gerardo performed the ceremony. Her godparents were Adrian's cousins (Lauri & Sebastian)... Unfortunately earlier this morning Sebastian was called away on a EMERGENCY business trip so he couldn't attend the baptism but luckily Joaquin, my brother-in-law was able to step-in as a substitute.

Our baby girl was well behaved during the whole ceremony. She did get a bit fussy when Father Gerardo poured the water over her head but she calmed down quickly.

After the ceremony, we all took pictures with Francesca and then headed home for the reception.

We had set-up a tent with tables in our backyard just like we did for Felipe's baptism. The whole week we had been praying for a beautiful day because the weather outlook said it was suppose to rain today. Luckily the weather was really nice so it was fun to be outdoors. My mother-in-law had prepared some Salmon and Chicken spreads, we bought some brushetta and a Tortilla EspaƱola. We served all this to the guests until the food was ready to be eaten. As the main course, Adrian had prepared some Pumpkin Raviolis, 4 cheese Tortellinis and Proscuitto di Parma Tortellinis.

In the end I think everyone had a great time.

God bless Ryan

It is such a blessed event when you see a child get baptized and it is even more special when it is the child of a childhood friend.

Today we attended Ryan's baptism at St. Kerian and then afterwards the reception was at Bahamas Breeze.

Happy 1st Birthday

A year ago today, at this exact time, Felipe joined our family.

Dear Felipe,
It's been a year of happiness not only for daddy and me but also for all those that have gotten to know you.

For the past week all your daddy and I can say is "Can you believe it's been a year?". Although it seems like time has flown by, we can definitely say that we have enjoyed every minute that we have been with you.

Today you are turnig one and you have taken us on a roller coaster ride like no other.

I never imagined all the happiness you would bring us. Together we've experienced: baby kicks, ultrasounds, heartburn, breastfeeding, burping, throw-ups, long sleepless night, co-sleeping, exhaustion, diaper changes, explosive poops, constipation, getting pooped on the hand, baths, first bath, First Halloween, First Thanksgiving, First Christmas, Your Baptism, First New Year's, First Valentine's Day, First St Patty's Day, First Easter, First 4th of July, pumping milk at work, leaving to work in the mornings while you are crying for me, booger bubbles, gases, colics, cradle cap, long nails, fussiness, scratches, SIDS obsessions, bottom teeth, homemade baby food, lots of pictures, First time at a movies, First trip to the zoo, First car trip, First time at the beach, First time in the ocean, laughs, bumps, bruises, scratches, first haircut, standing in the crib, top teeth, biting, drooling, slobbery kisses, rolling over, sitting up, crawling, pulling up, standing, face landings, sleeping through the night, tantrums, giggles, mama, dada, saliva bubbles, rocking you to sleep, singing you to sleep, multiple pediatrician appointments, clapping, peekaboo, screaming, squeals of delight, tickles, waving bye-bye, first dip in the pool, Mother's day, Father's Day ... and your first birthday!

Wow, my precious, it must have been an exhausting year for you.

Happy 1st Birthday Felipe!!!

I love you my prince and with every day that passes, I love you even more. I'm looking forward to the next year of "adventures" with you.

What an exhausting weekend...

This past weekend was very exhausting for Adrian and I. On Saturday Adrian started a new job so I went shopping with Felipe...

We had a costume party at night and I still was missing part of my costume... Long story short I couldn't find anything so I had to modify my costume.

At around 8:30 pm we headed over to Amanda's house to drop-off some socks and shoes that she needed to borrow for Matthew's baptism. Then from there we went to Jayme's house to his Super Heroes Costume Birthday Party. Everyone had to go dressed as a Super Heroe so Adrian went as Spiderman (Black Spiderman T-shirt with jeans), Felipe was baby Spiderman (Full Spiderman Costume) and I was Batgirl (Black Batman T-shirt with jeans). We stayed there until like 2:30 in the morning and my adorable son was enjoying the party until this time... He took his little naps during the party but he didn't want to miss anything.

When we got home, at around 3:00, I put him in his crib and got ready for bed. He woke up at around 5:40 for his milk and then went right to sleep. Luckily he slept until 8:40 am (he usually wakes up at 7 in the morning) and I got up to play with him.

At around noon we started getting ready to go to Matthew's baptism which was at 1pm. Adrian was the Godfather so we needed to make sure we were on time.

After the ceremony we all went to the Dufau residence for a small gathering. We ate, we watched football and we just hung out.

By the time 7pm rolled around we (Amanda, Eric, Adrian and I) were all tired so we went home. I thought I would get home and put Felipe to sleep but he had other plans... He did not go to sleep until about 11pm.

All I can say is I need a vacation from my weekend.

Felipe Ignacio's Baptism

Yesterday was Felipe Ignacio's baptism. He was baptized at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Miami and Father Gerardo performed the ceremony.

Our little boy was very well behaved during the whole ceremony. We all thought that he would cry when Father Gerardo poured the water over his head but he didn't he actually smiled.

After the ceremony was over and we all took pictures with Felipe and headed home for the reception.

We had set-up a tent with tables in our backyard. Luckily the weather was really nice so it was fun to be outdoors. We had a some hors devours until the real food arrived. We had ordered some Paella and also some chicken with mushroom sauce for those who do not eat seafood.

In the end I think everyone had a great time.
