Felipe is 9 Months

Adrian and I were talking and he made me realized that at this moment Felipe has been with us for as long as he was in my belly...

Felipote!!!

He went in to the pediatrician today for his 9 month check-up and everything is going great.

They tested him for anemia which he thankfully does not have. Since he doesn't have anemia, the doctor gave us the thumbs up for dairy products.

He can also start to eat regular non-pureed food now so that he can get accustomed to chewing.

He is weighing 19 lbs 6 oz and mesuring 28 1/4 inches.

March for Babies

Today I walked 5 miles in the March of Dimes Walk for Babies at Crandon Park in Key Biscayne. I thought it was going to be a long walk but it actually went by really quickly. It took me an hour and a half to finish but I felt great and energized.

I was in Amanda's group but I walked alone because the rest of the group got stuck in traffic. They all ended up arriving right around the time when I finished the walk-a-thon.

I would like to take a minute to thank everyone who donated and helped me reach my goal. I exceeded my goal and raised $380.

I think I am going to participate again next year.

The MOHAWK is GONE

Today I took Felipe to get his first haircut. He was behave well until they started cutting the mohawk off... I think he didn't want to part with his little tuff of hair so he started crying.

Swinging

Today we went to Ryan's birthday party, he was turning 7. During the party I accompanied Amanda to a playground so that Matthew could play, unfortunately Felipe was taking a nap so I couldn't take him with us. While at the playground, I saw that they had baby swings so I told Amanda that later on I wanted to bring Felipe. Towards the end of the party I decided I would escape for a bit and take Felipe to the swings. As I was walking over to the playground I kept on thinking how Felipe would react to the swing. When I first sat him down he started analyzing the strange contraption but it didn't take long for him to start enjoying it and he even liked to be pushed... YAY!!! He has ridden his first swing.

My most dreaded moment...

As many of you know, I am still breastfeeding Felipe. This to me is a very special thing because it allows me to special mommy time with him. For many months now I have been dreading one moment and it has finally arrived...

Felipe is getting his first tooth.

You would think that I would have noticed first but that was not the case. Adrian was the one that noticed it because he is always letting Felipe bite his nose and I guess the sharp edges got him.

Felipe has actually been very gentle when he is feeding, it's when he is done but still wants to suckle that he uses me as his personal teether.

As soon as that tooth has made its appearance I will try my hardest to photograph the grand arrival.

For a few days now my grandmother and mom have been teaching Felipe how to do "Tortitas" and he was understanding the concept but he was doing them with his hands in a fist. Well today he decided that he could open his hands to clap and do "Tortitas"
